Donna R. Thompson is currently employed as the Director of Curriculum and Accountability at Troy ISD, a district in Central Texas. Previously, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, she spent 8 years as a counselor in a mental health clinic plus 10 years as a school counselor in districts including Brownsboro, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw (Ft. Worth), Lufkin, West, and Midway (Waco). It was during those years that Donna created the majority of the games and lessons she now offers through Things Above Consulting. She continues to add new lessons, games, and staff development activities all the time!

Donna earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler.  She went on to obtain a Master’s Degree and Doctor’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Donna and her husband, Pastor David Thompson, have four children and two grandchildren.  Her son, Chandler Thompson, designed this website.  Donna and her family live in McGregor, Texas.
